Abstract This document presents the Brazilian approach to ergonomics, which contrasts with the mainstream American approach (adaptation of man to machine) and the French approach (man-task system). In the Brazilian approach, ergonomics is defined as work carried out according to the laws of nature. It is based on an anthropometric model.
