Abstract This information note describes the health hazards associated with the use of chemical cleaners used, for example, for cleaning building facades, statues and monuments, and provides safety and health guidance for their use or the supervision of their use. Topics covered: health hazards due to skin contact or inhalation of fumes and mist; informed to be obtained on the damages caused by strong acids and alkalis before their use; precautionary measures (preventing or controlling exposure, use of appropriate protective equipment, personal hygiene); protection of the public; cleaning of scaffolds and equipment after use; spillages; first aid.
