Abstract There are no data on the effects of human exposures to n-propyl bromide. Available data are from experiments on rats. Target organs are the lungs (inflammation) and the central nervous system (depression). N-propyl bromide is a skin irritant. The most severe neurotoxic effects following prolonged inhalation appear in the form of histopathological lesions of the brain and peripheral nerves, a paralysis of the lower extremities and a decrease in nerve conduction speed. Spermatogenic inhibition has also been demonstrated.
