Abstract Although statistics have shown a decline during the last 40 years, cement remains the prime cause of occupational contact dermatitis among workers in the building and construction industry. Contents of this information sheet: cement manufacturing processes; risks for humans (skin damage, eye damage, other diseases); preventive measures (gloves, protective creams, reduction by ferrous sulfate of the chromium VI contained in cement and primarily responsible for contact dermatitis); legal aspects.
