Abstract There are approximately 750 accidents involving falls from heights reported each year in the food and drink industry in the United Kingdom. This information sheet provides guidance on preventing falls from heights in these industries. It analyses where the falls occur, why they occur and how they can be prevented. Summaries of 14 actual fall accidents are provided, including the subsequent corrective measures that were undertaken.
