Follow-up Training Workshops on Workplace Cooperation
Two back to back workshops will reinforce Workplace Cooperation skills amongst workers, union and employer organization representatives as well as other stakeholders.
Industries in Bangladesh face challenges in relation to poor working conditions and lack of worker access to freedom of association and collective bargaining. The ready-made garment (RMG) sector is no exception. ILO is currently implementing technical cooperation projects in Bangladesh, which aim at: (i) Promoting better compliance with international labour standards, particularly fundamental principles and rights at work, and (ii) Build social partners’ capacities to in relation to freedom of association and collective bargaining.
Capacity building on Workplace Cooperation
As part of a series of events, two back-to-back training workshops will take place in collaboration with ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin (ITC) on Workplace Cooperation as follows:
- 3-day follow-up training on ‘Effective Workplace Cooperation’ for 30 plant-level participants from 11 to 13 October 2015. Participants will include workers’ representatives and mid-level managers from eight RMG factories who attended an earlier workshop in July 2015.
- Follow-up with 30 Trainers of Trainers on Workplace Cooperation from 11 to 15 October 2015. Participants include Management Counsellors from BIM, trainers from BEF, BGMEA and BKMEA as well as selected trade union federations, faculty members/trainers from business school/related faculties, and staff members from the ILO and Better Work programme.
