Green jobs: a sustainable path out of poverty for Bangladesh
Despite economic growth, the pace of poverty reduction has slowed and the country still ranks 173 out of 180 countries in the Environmental Performance Index. According to the ILO’s research, millions of jobs could be created with the right policies to promote a greener economy.
With the support of Canada and the ILO, Bangladesh government promote technical and entrepreneurial training to the most vulnerable on waste management, organic fertilizer production, safe food production, mushroom cultivation and eco-tourism.
