Skills recognition of Sri Lankan migrant workers

This policy brief demonstrates the potential of migrants to enhance their skills and explores the possibility of mainstreaming migrant workers skills assessment in the current national skills assessment framework

National skills development policies and systems strive to meet present and future labour market needs. In particular they seek to enhance skills, improve productivity and competitiveness in sectors critical for the achievement of national employment and overall development goals. Dedicated Skills training and recognition systems can positively impact the functioning of labour
markets for the benefit of employers and workers, among other benefits.
