    10th high level meeting of the ILO and the European Commission

    For the 10th time in a row, and in the presence of the ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, the ILO Office and the European Commission (EC) held their annual high-level meeting defining the focus of their cooperation for the next year. The ILO Office and the EC reaffirmed their mutual partnership and defined fields and areas of common action in 2013.

    The governance of policy reform in Ireland: Social dialogue actors and institutions in times of economic downturn and austerity

    ILO-EU project led to better coordination of social protection and employment policies in Burkina Faso, Cambodia and Honduras

    The ILO and the European Commission concluded their joint project "Improving social protection and promoting employment” in a workshop organized in Brussels. The project, signed in 2009, supported Burkina Faso, Cambodia and Honduras in the development of integrated social protection and employment policies.

    Interregional conference: "Improving social protection and promoting employment. Experiences and lessons learned from an ILO-EU project in Burkina Faso, Honduras and Cambodia"

    A conference will be organized to explore the experiences and lessons learned from the joint ILO/EU project "Improving social protection and promoting employment", implemented between 2009 and 2012 in Burkina Faso, Cambodia and Honduras. This interregional conference will be jointly organized by the European Commission and the ILO.

    ILO calls on Greece to bring its labour relations system back to fundamental rights

    In this year’s November session, the ILO Committee on Freedom of Association – the supervisory body of the International Labour Organization (ILO) that examines cases concerning employers’ and trade unions’ rights to organize, collective bargaining and social dialogue – examined an extensive deficit of social dialogue in austerity measures taken in Greece and highlighted the need for ILO assistance in the country.
