Nearly half of the 152 million child labourers are engaged in the worst forms of child labour. 71% of all child workers are found in agriculture.
Key factors contributing to child labour in rural areas are low family income, household poverty and lack of organisation of farm workers and small producers.

The UN Sustainable Development Goal 8, Target 7, calls for ‘immediate and effective measures [...] to secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms’.
