End of project workshop on EC-ILO-ACP “TACKLE” project

On 2 and 3 July 2013, an end of project global stakeholders workshop on the joint ILO-EU-ACP “TACKLE” project on child labour took place in Brussels. “TACKLE” stands for “Tackling child labour through education” and is a joint project of the European Commission (EC) and the ILO with the support of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). Launched in 2008, TACKLE aims at fighting child labour in 12 countries.

A two-day workshop marked the end of the project. Representatives from Ministries of Labour, Ministries of Education, Trade Unions, Employers Organizations, the EC, the ILO, and Brussels-based ACP Ambassadors of the countries covered by TACKLE discussed the findings of the final evaluation of the project and the steps that have to be taken in order to continue national efforts for the elimination of child labour.
