  1. Assessing informality and vulnerability among disadvantaged groups of Lebanese, and Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon

    1 October 2018 - 30 September 2021,

    The ILO has conducted an Informal Economy and Vulnerability study, targeting the most vulnerable populations among Lebanese, Syrian Refugees and Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon to provide currently unavailable information on the supply and demand sides of Lebanon’s labour market.

  2. Formalizing access to the legal labour market for refugees and host communities in Jordan (Phase II)

    30 September 2018 - 30 September 2021, Jordan

    This project seeks to support Jordanians and Syrian refugees in accessing decent work in Jordan’s labour market through skills development and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), while also supporting female workers to enter and remain in the formal work force through targeted support. It also supports refugee workers with work permit issuance in selected sectors, including through an ILO-developed web-based platform.

    The overall objective of the programme is to prevent the recruitment of children and youth as child soldiers and to sustainably reintegrate children formally associated with the conflict in Hajjah, Sanaa, and Lahj governorates in Yemen.

  5. Decent Work in Jordan’s Floriculture Sector

    1 July 2019 - 30 June 2021, Jordan

    This project aims to improve working conditions, enhance skills and boost the employability of vulnerable Jordanians and Syrian refugees working in Jordan’s floriculture sector, while linking farm producers with new international and regional market opportunities.

  6. Technical Cooperation Programme between Qatar and the ILO

    29 January 2018 - 29 January 2021, Qatar

    The Programme in Qatar reflects the common commitment of both the Government of Qatar and the ILO to cooperate on ensuring compliance with ratified international labour Conventions, as well as achieving fundamental principles and rights at work in the State of Qatar in a gradual manner during the period 2018–20.

  1. EU-ILO collaboration in the monitoring of labour aspects in the implementation of the EU’s rules of origin initiative for Jordan (Phase II)

    The project, in its second phase, implements interventions aimed at supporting the EU-Jordan Agreement on the relaxation of the rules of origin (RoO). The agreement facilitates access of specific Jordanian product categories to the EU market while creating incentives for Jordanian employers to recruit Syrian workers in addition to their Jordanian employees, in order to meet the requirements under the Jordan Compact.

  3. Support to the development of employment policies in the occupied Palestinian territory

    1 September 2017 - 31 August 2020,

    The ILO and the Palestinian Authority are working to create a policy framework and develop relevant mechanisms to improve the labour market and employment situation in the country.

  4. Improved access to employment opportunities for Lebanese host communities and Syrian refugees in Lebanon

    1 May 2017 - 31 August 2020, Lebanon

    The project will contribute to upgrading the agricultural technical education system in Lebanon, to improve access to employment opportunities and livelihoods in rural areas.
