    The ILO Regional Office for Arab States is organizing a workshop with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to promote the ILO-ILC2007 Conclusions on Sustainable Enterprises. This is a part of an ongoing cooperation agreement between the ILO and the GCC.

  5. Training workshop for labour inspectors on “ensuring good working conditions for workers, including migrant workers”

    As part of a series of training workshops to labour inspectors around Jordan, the ILO delivered a three day workshop for labour inspectors of the Ministry of Labour, based in Amman, to strengthen their capacity relating to effective inspection of working conditions, particularly in ‘difficult to reach’ sectors of construction and domestic work, and to encourage a better understanding of both national and international standards and good practices on labour inspection and OSH.

    Field engineers from Jordan’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing will be trained by the ILO in labour-intensive road condition surveying as part of efforts to improve local infrastructure and increase formal employment among refugees and host communities.
