The ILO and Lebanon’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education launch entrepreneurship education training for vocational and technical schools in Lebanon

The ILO Know About Business entrepreneurship education programme training will target 50 teachers of vocational and technical schools in Lebanon

In partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the ILO will organize two “Know About Business” (KAB) entrepreneurship education facilitator workshop training sessions, which aim to build the capacity of a network of teachers on entrepreneurship as part of the national curricula of vocational and technical schools in Lebanon. The KAB workshops will comprise of two workshops: the first from August  19 to 31 and the second  from September 2 to 14.

The workshops aims to: 
  • Develop positive attitudes towards enterprises and self-employment among the youth;
  • create awareness of enterprises and self-employment as a career option for young people;
  • provide knowledge and practice of the required attributes and challenges for starting and operating a successful and sustainable enterprise; and
  • develop entrepreneurial skills and traits among youth.

A training of facilitators’ methodology will be used to build a capable network of teachers to deliver the KAB programme as national facilitators. The direct outcomes of the workshops will be that:
  • 50 women and men facilitators are trained on the KAB entrepreneurship education programme;
  • 600 female and male students receive attendance certificate and/or present a business plan.
  • 40 teachers and professors/instructors certified as National KAB Facilitators.

The KAB workshops are part of the Skill Up Lebanon project, which aims to support formal and informal Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and skills training systems in Lebanon.

The KAB is an entrepreneurship education programme targets young women and men enrolled in general secondary schools, TVET education, and higher education. The overall aim of the programme is to contribute to the creation of a culture of enterprise development by strengthening the capacity of governments and tripartite constituents to provide entrepreneurship education to youth.
