Jordanian human trafficking specialists meet to identify operational indicators

Experts in the field of counter-trafficking meet to draft a set of operational indicators on human trafficking in Jordan in preparation for a national quantitative survey.

Statisticians, technicians and practitioners in the field of counter-trafficking will meet in Jordan to draft a set of operational indicators on human trafficking, as part of the ILO efforts to improve statistical information on migration, forced labour and human trafficking. Participants will discuss the feasibility of carrying out a national quantitative survey in Jordan that will assess the magnitude of forced labour and trafficking of persons, as well as to develop a draft list of trafficking indicators in line with Jordan’s national legislation.

The workshop falls under the framework of the ILO project ‘’Improving Labour Migration Governance and Combatting Human Trafficking in the Middle East’’, which works in the regions to strengthen labour migration governance and combat human trafficking.
