Arab Regional Network for Migrant Workers’ Rights

The ILO is hosting the second meeting of the Arab Regional Network for Migrant Workers’ Rights.

The International Labour Organization, in collaboration with the Daem Observatory for Consultation and Training, is hosting the second meeting of the Arab Regional Network for Migrant Workers’ Rights.

The network was formed and launched in April 2013 in Beirut, bringing together representatives of 13 NGOs, activists, trade unions and human rights organizations from eight Arab States.

The network is expected to engage in the second UN High Level Dialogue in Migration and Development in October 2013, which aims to improve the governance of migration – in particular with regard to the protection of the human rights of all migrants; perceptions of migrants and migration; and reflection of migration in national and global development agendas.

Objectives of the meeting:

  • To decide on the structure of the network
  • To nominate a chair
  • To adopt an action plan
