Why is it important to celebrate International Domestic Workers' Day?



All across the world, the International Domestic Workers’ Day is observed to celebrate the work and contributions of domestic workers. This year, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs of Qatar (ADLSA), the ILO and the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) hosted a virtual event to mark this day.

Participants have discussed what  this day means to them and how we can work towards realizing decent work for all domestic workers. Participants also discussed the impact of the recent labour reforms introduced by the State of Qatar on domestic workers.
