Pay Equity
The ILO’s work on Pay Equity aims to promote the implementation of the ILO Equal Remuneration Convention, 1951 (No.100) through a methodology that includes the following activities:
Among the Arab states, Jordan is the only country where the methodology has been initiated through a policy oriented legal review and a pay equity study in the education sector. A video on pay equity in Jordan has also been developed and is applicable to all countries in the Arab States.
- Conducting policy awareness workshops;
- Assisting in the formation of national committees on pay equity with research, training, advocacy, and legislative change components; and
- the compilation of national situation assessments and policy briefs.
