The ILO publishes a wide range of books, reports, working papers, training manuals, CD-ROMs, videos and flash movies, relevant to China and Mongolia. Some of these can be downloaded directly. Others can be requested from the ILO Library in Beijing.

  3. Inclusion of people with disabilities in China

    Women and men with disabilities can, want and deserve to be productive members of society. In both developed and developing countries, promoting inclusive socio-economic opportunities for people with disabilities requires improved access to basic education, vocational training relevant to labour market needs, and jobs suited to their skills, interests and abilities (with adaptations made as needed).

  4. Report to the Government: Assessment of the social security legislation for the ratification of the Social Security (Minimum Standards) Convention, 1952 (No. 102)

    This report contains a detailed legal assessment of existing social security provisions taking into account the requirements of Convention No. 102, and is intended to serve as a reference in view of a possible future ratification of Convention No. 102 by Mongolia. It formulates a number of recommendations and, on the basis of the analysis with the information made available to the ILO at the time of preparing this report, concludes that Mongolia is indeed in a position to ratify the Convention by meeting its minimum requirements.

    This report documents and analyzes the vulnerabilities of Shenzhen’s migrant worker population with regards to HIV/STI, reproductive health and gender equality before providing a series of recommendations on how to move forward with programs to address the primary needs of migrant workers.

  1. Research report on the retirement age issue

    This study intends to answer the following questions through in-depth investigation: who are for and against the same retirement age for men and women, and why?; and what are the perspectives and demands with regards to the retirement age of people from various occupational groups (workers, technical professionals and cadres respectively) by gender and identity? In this way, the study aims to provide a practical and feasible basis for the modification and improvement of the retirement policy both for China's economic and social harmony as well as for progress towards greater gender equality and respect for women's human rights.

  2. Employers' guide on promoting equal opportunity and treatment and preventing discrimination at work in China

    This Guide is issued together with a Code of Practice for employers on promoting equal opportunity and treatment and preventing discrimination at work. It is issued by the China Enteprise Confederation (CEC) in cooperation with the International Labour Office (ILO) to give CEC member companies practical guidance on how to take measures to promote equal opportunity and treatment and elimate discrimination in their company policies and practices.

  3. Code of practice for employers on promoting equal opportunity and treatment and preventing discrimination at work in China

    This Code of Practice articulates a set of guiding principles for employers and business on non-discrimination and euality at work. The Code is issued by the China Enteprise Confederation (CEC) in cooperation with the International Labour Office (ILO) to help CEC member companies to take measures to promote equal opportunity and treatment and elimate discrimination in their company policies and practices.

  4. Discrimination against People Living with HIV within Healthcare Settings in China

    Based on the interview responses and related documents, this report describes the current state of discrimination by medical institutions against people living with HIV, analyses the underlying factors behind this discrimination and provides a set of policy recommendations designed to better protect the medical rights of people living with HIV.

  1. Summer field research for the employment of people with disability

    Three groups of undergraduate students in the Law School of Peking University China went to Beijing Municipality, Sichuan province and Heilongjiang provinces and carried out a survey on issues related to discrimination of people with disabilities in employment during their summer holidays in 2010. Cases were collected, interviews were organized with employers, human resource persons and law firms etc. to investigate the background of these areas where employment of people with disability has been effectively facilitated, aiming at exploring the possibility of further improvement through academic research or legal measures.

  2. Emergency-Start and Improve Your Business training includes people with disabilities

    Stories of two disabled persons who were included in a vocational / livelihoods training provided by the Emergency-Start and Improve Your Business (E-SIYB), a training initiative started to help economic recovery following the deadly May 12, 2008 Sichuan earthquake that killed more than 80,000 people.
