ILO/CMTU/NSO Capacity Building Training on Labour Statistics for Trade Unionists

As follow-up to the recommendations of the assessment of its organizational capacity to monitor and advance Mongolia’s SDGs and decent work progress, CMTU is organizing a two day capacity building training for trade unions.

CMTU and its affiliates are keen to improve its organizational capacity to monitor and advance Mongolia’s SDGs and decent work progress and to raise awareness of these issues including measurement indicators, and to make more and better use of them in collective bargaining, social dialogue and services to members. As some of the decent work and SDG indicators call for understanding and knowledge of statistical concepts and measures, CMTU plans to undertake capacity building of key officials of affiliated trade unions in cooperation with NSO and ILO. The training will cover the following topics:
  • Basic statistical concepts
  • Basic concepts and methodologies of labour statistics
  • Labour market information and key indicators
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis and tools
  • Introduction to poverty measures
  • Accessibility and better use of statistics produced by NSO
