This paper details the recent immigration policies in the six oil-rich countries comprising the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The policies outlined here are classified into those aimed at affecting the supply of and demand for foreign workers, and those aimed at increasing the demand for indigenous workers. The paper makes an assessment of the probable effectiveness of all these policies.
