  1. Achieving reduction of child labour in support of education: Programme to reduce the worst forms of child labour in agriculture sector in BARMM

    The ILO and the Government of Japan through the ILO-Japan Multi-bilateral Programme have partnered to reduce the worst forms of child labour in agricultural communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The initial target provinces are Maguindanao and Lanao Del Sur.

  3. World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020- Stop the Pandemic: Covid‐19 Emergency Preparedness at the Workplace

    The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT), Employer’s and Worker’s Organizations in Cambodia, with technical support from the International Labour Organization (ILO) through ILO/Japan OSH Project on “Enhancing the Occupational Safety and Health Standard in Construction Sector”, and ILO/BFC Project (Better Factories Cambodia), jointly organized a virtual World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020 under the theme “Stop the Pandemic: Covid‐19 Emergency Preparedness at the Workplace”, on 29 April 2020.

  6. How to extend social protection to workers in informal employment in the ASEAN region

    This policy brief is based on the findings and recommendations of the report, Expansion of Social Protection to Workers in Informal Employment, from the International Labour Organization. The report outlines recent trends in informal employment as well as the challenges and opportunities for extending social protection to all workers across the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It describes the gaps and needs of specific groups of workers who are more likely to be excluded from social protection coverage. Structured around a proposed typology of strategies, the report documents relevant country experiences and lessons from those experiences, drawing conclusions and proposing recommendations to invigorate the regional and national policy debates on the extension of social protection coverage.

  9. Ninth Tripartite Regional Seminar on Industrial Relations in the ASEAN Region:“Promoting sound industrial relations through social dialogue on skills development in the context of future of work”

    With the continued support from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the ASEAN Secretariat, this Tripartite Regional Seminar aims to provide opportunities for governments, workers and employers of ASEAN member countries to discuss the issues concerning industrial relations, including skills policies and methodologies developments. Sharing knowledge and experience of each member state for better industrial relations and strengthened social dialogue would be an important part of the discussion.

  10. Pensions will ensure income security for older person – Universal social protection to achieve the SDGs

    In the past decades, Viet Nam made significant progress in extending social protection, and has now committed to universal social protection by the Master Plan on Social Insurance reform and the Master Plan on Social Assistance reform. The ILO/Japan Multi-bilateral programme supported a national dialogue led by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to implement the social insurance reforms.
