ILO to publish annual report on global employment trends and the jobs crisis

The ILO is to launch its annual report, “Global Employment Trends 2013” (GET) on Tuesday 22 January.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch its annual report, “Global Employment Trends 2013” (GET) on Tuesday 22 January.

Five years after the outbreak of the global financial crisis, the study offers the latest global and regional information and projections on several indicators of the labour market, including employment, unemployment, working poverty and vulnerable employment.

It also presents a number of policy considerations in light of the new challenges facing policy makers in the coming year.

The report and all associated material and information are embargoed until 06.01 Bangkok time on Tuesday 22 January. (23:01 GMT, Monday 21 January). Embargoed electronic copies of the report, executive summary and some associated media materials can be made available to recognized media on request.

The ILO’s Director-General Guy Ryder will give a press conference, under embargo, in Geneva on Monday 21 January at 10.00 a.m. Broadcast coverage of the press conference as well as B-roll and interviews with the report authors can be e made available to broadcasters on request.

The Global Employment Trends report is an annual publication of the ILO’s Employment Trends unit of the ILO Employment Sector.
