    The online webinar aims to introduce representatives of government, employers’ and workers’ organizations and educational and training institutions to successful approaches towards skills anticipation and matching.

  2. South-South Knowledge Sharing Forum on "What works in e-formalization for Asia and the Pacific"

    18 - 20 May 2021

    The Knowledge Sharing Forum provides a platform for tripartite constituents in selected countries in Asia and the Pacific to engage in guided discussions on the potential of digital technologies to contribute to a transition to formality. The Forum will be guided by the principles of South-South and triangular cooperation, and favour peer learning and cross-country exchanges. It will serve as a kick-off to a longer-term research and knowledge-sharing programme.

    The World Day for Safety and Health at Work will focus on strategies to strengthen national occupational safety and health (OSH) systems to build resilience, in order to face crises now and in the future, drawing on lessons learned and experiences from the world of work.

  2. Online Media Discussion and Briefing: Omnibus Law, Portrayal of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and the Pandemic

    The ILO will take this opportunity to raise awareness and stimulate dialogue on the importance of creating and investing in resilient OSH systems, drawing on both regional and country examples in mitigating and preventing the Spread of COVID-19 at the workplace.

  3. Research Seminar on Employment Injury Insurance (EII) for Workers in the Platform Economy

    Worldwide, only 35.4% of the labour force is covered "by law" for employment injury insurance. The challenge of extending employment injury protection remains of high importance in many countries. In China, coverage of employment injury insurance (EII) is still relatively low when compared to the success in the expansion of coverage of employee pension schemes.

  4. ILO conducts labour rights orientation-seminar for Philippine Economic Zones Authority (PEZA) officials, staff and locators

    The Freedom of Association (FOA) Orientation for PEZA economic zone managers, staff and locators is part of ILO Country Office for the Philippine's (ILO CO-Manila) Trade for Decent Work Project. This project is supported by the ILO's RBSA donors from the governments of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. The ILO-EU Trade for Decent Work Project in partnership with the PEZA, organized a virtual Orientation on FOA based on social dialogue for ecozone managers, staff and locators last 26 April 2021.

  6. Strengthening consultation and cooperation mechanisms for productivity and decent work

    23 - 24 April 2021

    Social dialogue between Thai employers and workers representatives organized by CO Thailand, aimed at: 1) Reviewing key challenges at enterprise/workplace level due to COVID crisis, building consensus on way forward for follow up actions for enterprise sustainability and workers welfare; 2) Capacity building for workplace cooperation for productivity and decent work and grievances handling at enterprise level;

    As part of the Decent Work in Garment Supply Chains Asia project, the ILO is partnering with the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network to bring together the textile and garment sector and the cement industry to share, discuss and further CO2 reduction activities.

  10. Tripartite Consultation Workshop on Development of a National Occupational Safety and Health Strategy

    15 April 2021

    The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) of Mongolia will host this workshop to discuss principles and priorities for developing a new national OSH strategy for 2021-2025 with relevant ministries, government agencies and social partners. This work is supported by the ILO project on Promoting Formal Employment for Inclusive and Diversified Economic Growth in Mongolia.

    5 - 7 April 2021

    The ILO/Japan Project on Strengthening Action against Violence and Harassment with Focus on Sexual Harassment in the World of Work in Nepal concluded the first batch of training to strengthen the capacity of C190 Action Group on prevention and elimination of violence and harassment in the world of work.

  4. Technical Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility for Policy Makers “The contribution of socially responsible labour practices to the achievement of sustainable development in the Philippines”

    The technical seminar is aimed at widening the knowledge and understanding of policy makers on the comprehensive scope of CSR and appreciate more the importance of their role in developing the most relevant institutional framework that can set the standards and benchmarks in order to guide and encourage businesses to initiate and/or improve their socially responsible labour practices along their own production lines.

  5. Spotlight on Gender-sensitive Reporting in Journalism

    24 March 2021

    The joint ILO-UN Women Safe and Fair Programme, as part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative, will host a webinar to discuss and share good practices for responsible and ethical reporting of labour migration and gender-based violence and discrimination against migrant workers among media professionals. Safe and Fair will also launch the Media-friendly glossary on migration: Women migrant workers and ending violence against women edition. The glossary serves a guide for journalists, reporters, researchers and trainers who conduct trainings or write about women’s labour migration, and who write about violence against women in the context of migration.
