  1. ILO Asian Knowledge Forum: Realizing Decent Work for Domestic Workers

    24 - 26 April 2013

    The ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Conditions of Work and Employment Branch are organizing an Asian Knowledge Forum on Realizing Decent Work for Domestic Workers (A2DWF) from 24-26 April 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand.

  2. Training on International Labour Standards, Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining in the Philippines (Luzon)

    22 - 23 April 2013

    With the continuing collaborative efforts of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) to implement the technical cooperation programme resulting from the ILO High Level Mission to the Philippines, DOLE officials and personnel will attend and participate in this area-wide training to be conducted in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

  3. Workshop on "Addressing sexual harassment at the workplace"

    15 - 24 April 2013

    ILO has provided technical and financial support to develop a Guide on preventing and addressing of sexual harassment at the workplace. The workshop includes training on main concepts, definitions, laws, policies and workplace action and policies against sexual harassment and action planning.

    Every entrepreneur is a risk manager that, at all time, needs to evaluate the contingency measures necessary to stay in business and protect workforce and assets. It is a continuous process that should be articulated around a exible plan. A plan to be enacted when and if the disaster strikes.

  5. ILO ACTRAV Asia and the Pacific Regional Trade Union Seminar on Wages Policies

    The main objective of the seminar is discussion on wage policy and wage setting.

    The UN unanimously adopted the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) on 13th December 2006, which entered into force on 3rd May 2008. Bangladesh was one of the pioneering countries to ratify this Convention and is pledge bound to implement the human rights treaty in its entirety ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities in the country. Five years on we look at the progress which the Government of Bangladesh, supported by the ILO, is making to include persons with disabilities in the national skills development system.

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) will run a pilot course aimed at helping microinsurance service providers to identify ways to improve their products and delivery services to low income households.

  8. The First South Asian Labour Inspection System Launched in Sri Lanka

    5 April 2013

    Sri Lanka marked a significant milestone by becoming the first country in South Asia to launch the Labour Inspection System Application or LISA.

    The ILO is launching on 5 April 2013 the Social Protection Assessment Based National Dialogue exercise in Lao PDR.

  10. The Launch of Labour and Social Trends in Indonesia 2012: Working for a Sustainable and Equitable Economy

    The fifth issue of the Labour and Social Trends in Indonesia analyses progress towards the goal of sustainable growth with equity. This report therefore shares an analysis of selected indicators that provide further insight to the quality of employment and macro-economic development in Indonesia.

    Following the training of trainers on start your green business, the training of entrepreneurs on start your green business under IGEP will be conducted from 11 to 14 April 2013. Graduates from the ToT on start your green business will have opportunity to attend this training.

  2. Start Your Green Business Training of Trainers

    25 March 2013

    The training on start your green business is under the Indonesia Green Entrepreneurship Programme (IGEP). The training will be delivered to 20 trainers on green business and will be held in Surabaya, Indonesia.

  3. Waste management demonstration project in Sri Lanka

    25 March 2013

    Under the ILO Green Jobs in Asia project, the pilot demonstration project in Sri Lanka focused on the promotion of occupational safety and health (OSH) and environmental practices in the waste sector. Apart from trainings of peer educators and waste pickers on OSH and green entrepreneurship, the project made efforts to integrate OSH standards into the national vocational qualification certification courses for waste management, and published the ILO’s work adjustment for recycling and managing waste manual in English, Sinhala and Tamil to encourage its wide dissemination.

  4. Hollywood puts ILO Green jobs programme in the frame

    Hollywood celebrities and movie industry insiders attended the vent to raise awareness of the ILO Green Jobs programme. Two ILO green entrepreneurship projects in Kenya and China were highlighted at the event.

  5. Occupational and Safety Health Workshop for Trade Unions

    19 - 20 March 2013

    Built the capability of Indonesian trade union branches in socializing the benefits of the implementation of SCORE OSH methodology in Small Medium Enterprises and getting stronger commitment from all Indonesian trade unions as one of the SCORE Indonesia implementing partner to support the socialization of SCORE methodology to the SMEs.

  6. Strengthening DPP and DPK APINDO for Minimum Wages Setting

    18 - 22 March 2013

    The workshop will share knowledge and experiences from Apindo representatives at the level of provinces and districts who are playing active in minimum wages negotiations. It is also aimed to create a coordinated minimum wages network Apindo between DPN-DPP and DPK.

  7. Renewing the Labour Movement through Organizing

    18 - 20 March 2013

    The workshop aims to level-off and unify on key organizing principles and concepts, share experiences organizing and knowledge-sharing on what works given the current context.

  8. Workshop on Negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements: Capacity Building for Trade Union Negotiators

    18 - 21 March 2013

    The workshop aims to know the key elements and processes of (win-win) negotiations and be able to go to the negotiation table prepared for the positive or negative results. It also aims for unions to know how to use social dialogue in productive or negative results.

  9. Innovations in Public Employment Programmes: A Policy Focus

    15 March 2013

    This training, with the participation of international and national trainers and experts, builds on the Innovations in Public Employment Programmes course, offered annually by the Centre, focusing on current policy debates arising from innovations in public employment programmes and how these can contribute to other policy priorities. It includes case studies from India, Ethiopia and South Africa, and provides policy insights to inform strategic decision-making and programme design.
