ILO/China Partnership Programme

National Skill Competition in Cambodia successfully completed

In partnership with Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the ILO/China Partnership Programme supported DGTVET to organize National Skill Competition

More than 30 Technical Training Institutes participated in competitions with a total of 61 competitors from public and private training institutes who joined the eight skills competitions arena, namely welding, bricklaying, electrical installation, IT software Solution for Business, Web Design, Graphic Design, Wall and Floor Tilling and Industrial Automation.

The National Skill Competition was presided over by H.E Pich Sophorn, Minister Delegate Attached to Prime Ministry and Permanent Secretary of State of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Secretary of State, Undersecretary of State, Director General of DGTVET, Deputy Director General, Department directors, TVET school director, organizations, private companies, development partners, as well as relevant officials and students. Mr. Liu Yutong, ILO-China Partnership Programme Manager, has also attended this important event and delivered the closing remark.

 
Cambodia Skills Competition is very important in promoting the development of quality vocational, technical skills, as well as work values among the youth and skilled workers. It provides strong motivation to our students and our teachers to aspire for excellence. It also encourages close cooperation between governments, industries, employers, workers organization, and vocational institutions. All these will help to further enhance the competitiveness of our economy particularly in the face of continuing globalization and the onslaught of the fourth industrial revolution. As a result of the four days competition, 49 winners were awarded medals and appreciation letters out of 61 contestants in the 8 majors of skill competitions.
