ILO-China Partnership Propramme, in close collaboration with Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Lao PDR organized a Consultation Workshop to draft  Employment Promotion Law, 10-11 August 2022.

A total of 44 participants attended this workshop, representing Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Lao Federation of Trade Union, Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lao National Assembly, Ministry of Finance, President’s office, Lao Youth Union, Ministry of Foreign Affair and Prime Minister Office.

H.E. Phongsaysack INTHALATH, Vice Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Lao PDR moderated the 2-day workshop.

Participants discussed about ILO standards for employment promotion, conceptual considerations on unemployment insurance and employment insurance, went through the draft of the Law, article by article.
