Annual meeting to review the implementation process of the Cambodian Labour Migration Policy

This meeting will be held to assess the implementation status of the Cambodian Policy on Labour Migration (2015-2018) as well as to develop action plans and priorities for its implementation in the coming year. It is part of wider efforts to maximise the contribution of labour migration to inclusive and stable growth in the ASEAN region.

This one-day meeting was organized as part of a series of yearly exercises to review implementation of the policy and to identify priorities and action plans for the coming 12 months. The events are organized to strengthen coherence of migration work, the strategic and multi-stakeholder approaches of the Cambodian Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MOLV), its partners within the government and among social partners, the NGO community, the Association of Cambodian Recruitment Agencies (ACRA), and UN agencies including ILO, IOM, and UN Women.

The meeting provided a status update on the Cambodia Labour Migration Policy, highlighting achievements, current and planned partnerships, promising practices, challenges and lessons learnt including areas requiring intensified efforts. It also helped to clarify expectations from relevant stakeholders to the implementation of the Labour Migration Policy in the future. The meeting resulted in aligned action plans for 2018.

The event was organised by MOLV and supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through ILO’s TRIANGLE in ASEAN.
