Domestic workers face considerable barriers to accessing justice and compensation for labour and other abuses perpetrated against them. Recently there have been several high profile cases of abuse of domestic workers in Thailand, prompting increased attention on the issue. The event brought together domestic workers, lawyers’ associations, civil society, and trade unions, to exchange information on domestic workers’ access to justice in Thailand. Attendees were updated on the latest developments on domestic workers’ rights in Thailand, including on recent changes to legislation on access to social security. The event concluded with the Network renewing their calls for ratification of C189 by the Thai Government, and releasing a Declaration.
