  3. Asia-Pacific Climate Week - ASEAN Green Jobs Policy Readiness Report Launch

    As part of Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2021, this event will officially launch the Regional Study on Green Jobs Policy Readiness in ASEAN, which was discussed during the 2020 ASEAN Inter-Ministerial Forum on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on Promoting Green Jobs for Equity and Inclusive Growth in ASEAN Community, and provide an opportunity to highlight the key findings and implications of the report for ASEAN member states as well as other partners throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

    This study – conducted from mid-October to December 2020 – is a follow-up to the initial assessment undertaken in March and April 2020.

    The ILO and ASEAN, with the leadership of Malaysia, worked together to conduct a study to assess policy readiness for promoting green jobs and a just transition across AMS. This document shares the highlights of the report, which includes country narratives and a summary assessment.

  2. Regional study on green jobs policy readiness in ASEAN: Final report

    The ILO and ASEAN, with the leadership of Malaysia, worked together to conduct a study to assess policy readiness for promoting green jobs and a just transition across AMS. In completing these assessments, the authors drew on responses to an extensive questionnaire completed by AMS countries between April and September 2020. Results from this questionnaire, along with other document analysis, were then used to develop country narratives and a summary assessment, which are presented in the report.

    In 2011, the international community adopted the ILO’s Domestic Workers Convention, 2011 (No. 189), which recognized for the first time that domestic work is work and that domestic workers should enjoy the same labour protections as all other workers.

  1. Spotlight on Gender-sensitive Reporting in Journalism

    The joint ILO-UN Women Safe and Fair Programme, as part of the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative, will host a webinar to discuss and share good practices for responsible and ethical reporting of labour migration and gender-based violence and discrimination against migrant workers among media professionals. Safe and Fair will also launch the Media-friendly glossary on migration: Women migrant workers and ending violence against women edition. The glossary serves a guide for journalists, reporters, researchers and trainers who conduct trainings or write about women’s labour migration, and who write about violence against women in the context of migration.
