    Everyday farmers are facing the effects of El Niño or long dry spell. About one-half of the Filipino labour force is engaged in agriculture. Farms are drying up due to climate change which can have a huge impact of incomes of farmers. The International Labour Organization (ILO) highlighted the need for innovative ways to avoid further damage on crops and incomes of farmers.

  2. ILO/Japan Greener Business Asia - High Level Expert Meeting

    This High Level Expert Meeting aims to exchange the current state of knowledge, practices, challenges and opportunities with regard to addressing social and environmental challenges, particularly energy efficiency, at the work place and relevant production practices with a view to helping inform the selection of sectors of intervention for pilot countries (Philippines and Thailand) and provide guidance and direction to the subsequent enterprise level intervention.

Poor people are more vulnerable to projected impacts while the wealthy ones are better equipped to deal with the costs of adaptation.
