  1. Training on OSH Improvement for Community Owned Plantation in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatera

    The presence of children working under hazardous conditions in the commercial plantation sector led the ILO to design a programme targeting elimination of child labour in this sector. Findings of the ILO’s OSH assessment in plantation in year 2009 shows that the working conditions of the workplaces in this sector are poor. A number of direct and indirect risks and hazards have been identified, including falling from high place; insect bites; and chemical substances.

  2. Promoting Gender Equality in Civil Service of Bangladesh

    As a part of the Project initiatives of “Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Violence against Women at Workplace” The 3rd consultation workshop on “Promoting Gender Equality in Civil Service of Bangladesh” was held at CIRDAP auditorium on 3rd March 2011, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and supported by the ILO.

  3. Improving Vocational and Life Skills of Ex-Child Labourers and at Risk Children Aged 15 to 17 Years - Second Batch

    In an attempt to improve the vocational and life skills of the children, and in collaboration with the International Garment Training Centre (IGTC), ILO-IPEC provides vocational and life skill training for 30 ex child laborers and at risk children. The vocational training to be provided is sewing operator training for which there is a market in the garment industry in Indonesia. Textile and garments are among the major contributors to the Indonesia’s exporting industries.

  4. Empowering ex-child labourers with vocational training

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) through its International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC) is organizing an inauguration for ex-child labourers graduating from vocational training on sewing on Saturday, 12 March 2011, at the International Garment Training Centre (IGTC) in Bogor, West Java.

  1. Stop Violence against Women in Every Sphere of Life not only at Workplace

    The second consultation workshop on “Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Violence against Women at Workplace” took place at BIAM Foundation, Dhaka, on 9 February 2011, which was organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and supported by the ILO.

  2. Traning on Assessing the Effects of Trade on Employment: an Introduction to Social Accounting Matrix and Multiplier Analysis

    The EC funded ILO project on trade effects on employment (ETE project), with the support of its constituents, is organizing a technical training focusing on trade effects on employment in Bangladesh. The objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of the constituents to formulate coherent trade and labour market policies. The training will take place from 13-17 February 2011 at Brac Centre Inn, Mohakhali, Dhaka

  4. Consultation workshop on “Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Violence against Women at Workplace”

    As a part of the Project initiatives of “Promoting Gender Equality and Preventing Violence against Women at Workplace” a consultation workshop was held at Bangladesh Secretariat on 30 January 2011, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment and supported by the ILO. Objectives of the consultation workshop were to create awareness on gender equality and VAW (sexual harassment) issues at workplace among the key actors and to identify effective means of promoting gender equality and preventing sexual harassment at workplace.

  1. Child Labour Knowledge Sharing System Users Training

    Nationwide training on the Child Labour Knowledge Sharing System, a new web portal for knowledge sharing and collaboration of all anti-child labour advocates.

  2. Child Labour Monitoring and Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring System Training and Presentation of Baseline Survey Results

    The training aims to develop the Child Labor Monitoring System and referral system and discuss the Direct Beneficiaries Monitoring System on child labour.
