  2. 5th National Artisanal Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) Summit

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with Ban Toxics will hold a national ASGM summit that will bring together local stakeholders on ASGM in the Philippines. The event will include a study launch, presentations and discussions on ASGM and the gold supply chain and will highlight the voices of child labourers and miners.

    In recent years Sri Lanka has made great strides in tackling child labour. But when a community came together to take action it proved to be a step change. A district-wide child development plan got children out of work and into school. The result is the world’s first Child Labour Free Zone.

  2. Session Structure and Presentations on Situation Analysis on the Philippines - Putting the present policy mix in the R204 context

    The session on Situation Analysis on the Philippines will provide the participants the context of the Philippines’ policy framework from an R204 angle so that the subsequent discussion during the Forum will become most relevant to the policymakers and the experts of the Philippines. The session includes presentation on a summary of the six thematic policy areas of this integrated approach along with the stakeholder analysis, an informal economy actor perspective and the briefing of the informal economy bill being discussed at the parliament.
