The Advisory Programme was launched as a joint initiative of the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to offer free advisory services and training opportunities to electronic manufacturers in the country.

From June 2022 to January 2023, workers, employers and trade union representatives from the Viet Nam’s electronics sector have the opportunity to join different training courses, advisory sessions and seminars on:

• Labour Code of Viet Nam on workplace democracy and social dialogue
• Gender equality in the electronics industry
• Occupational Safety and Health
• Dialogue and communication in the workplace
• Skills development
• Problem solving & self-diagnosis
• Manpower supply and labour sub-leasing services
• Preventing sexual harassment in the workplace

Participating factories benefited from improvements in the live standard of employees, policies and framework changes, newly established social dialogue at the workplace level and company productivity as a direct result of the Advisory Programme impact.

The Advisory Programme was one of the key initiatives of the Sustainable supply chains to build forward better project in Viet Nam, with support from the EU and other donors.
