  1. More and Better Jobs for Women: Women’s Empowerment through Decent Work in Turkey

    The project aims at developing a national policy to promote women’s employment, creating decent work opportunities for women through active labour market policies and building awareness on gender equality and labour standards.

  1. ILO/EU Textile Training Project

    1 January 2010 - 31 December 2014

    Worker - Management Education Project For Supply Chain Factories on Productivity And Working Conditions The apparel industry is one of the world’s largest employers. It is an industry that has witnessed a major transformation in the last fifty years with a shift from domestic sourcing in industrialised countries by Multinational Enterprises to business models based on outsourcing from developing countries with lower production and labor costs. The formerly dominant model of rigidly hierarchical firms manufacturing goods within wholly owned facilities in national operations for local markets has given way to transnational operations of alliances and supplier-based manufacturing that serve a range of global markets.

  1. UN Joint Programme on Harnessing Sustainable Linkages for the SMEs In Turkey's Textile Sector

    With the aim of enhancing international competitiveness of SMEs and promoting decent work in textile and clothing sector of Turkey, UNDP, UNIDO and ILO in cooperation with İTKİB (İstanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association) has launched a Joint Programme (JP) on "Harnessing Sustainable Linkages for the SMEs in Turkey's Textile Sector".

2010

  1. Pilot Project on Active Labour Market Policies for Advancing Gender Equality through Decent Employment for Women in Turkey

    The Pilot Project on Active Labour Market Policies for Advancing Gender Equality through Decent Employment for Women in Turkey was implemented jointly by İŞKUR and ILO Ankara Office from 01 January 2009 to 31 March 2010 (See also Project Proposal). The duration of the project covering the provinces of Ankara, Gaziantep and Konya is 15 months. The target group of the project comprises unemployed young women in these project provinces registered with the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR).

2005

  1. Auditing and Certification Programmes: A Research Project

    3 January - 30 June 2005

    In 2005 ILO, in cooperation with the EU, will conduct a research project on auditing and certification. The project will be implemented by ILO Ankara Office and Multinational Enterprises Department in Geneva. The project will survey the extent, costs and benefits of auditing and certification programmes in Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey.
