On April 14, 2023, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) visited ILO Office for Türkiye to discuss technical assistance for constituents affected by recent earthquakes. The focus of the meeting was on promoting human recovery and restoring interrupted value chains in the region. The delegation highlighted several important issues, including the need for psychosocial support, support for women's employment, improved labour inspection, and occupational safety and health measures. The ETUC expressed a desire to work jointly with European employers' organizations and collaborate with authorities and social partners to address these pressing issues in recovery and reconstruction programs.
