The skills development programme of the ILO Office for Türkiye, Work-Based Learning Programme (locally known as ISMEP), continues to create productive environments where everyone is protected and empowered through access to decent jobs. The ISMEP is currently implemented in Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Denizli, Gaziantep and İstanbul and now extended its cooperation in Ankara with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.

Through ISMEP, Syrians under Temporary Protection and Turkish citizens receive technical and vocational training at their workplaces and are employed formally from the first day.

All jobseekers of age 18 and above may apply to the ISMEP programme, with women, youth and persons with disabilities particularly encouraged and supported with additional financial incentives.

FOR JOBSEEKERS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN ISMEP PROGRAMME

Documentation and information required for application:

1. Photocopy of identity certificate for Turkish citizens; photocopy of temporary protection identity certificate for Syrians
2. SGK registration and detailed service record (available through e-Devlet portal)
3. Photocopy of the disability report, if the applicant is a person with disabilities
4. Phone number of the applicant, and alternative number in case s/he cannot be reached
5. E-mail address.

FOR ENTERPRISES WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN ISMEP PROGRAMME

Requirements for eligibility participation in the Programme:

• Need new, additional workers
• Have the capacity to support vocational training and development at workplace
• Aim to retain participants in jobs following the ISMEP programme
• Obtain work permits for Syrian participants and register them with Social Security Institution (SSI)
• Register Turkish citizens with SSI

Documentation and information required for application:

1. Tax certificate
2. Certificate of registration with Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen or Trade Registry
3. List of SSI insured workers.
