ILO and Altındağ Municipality join forces for trainings on women’s human rights

Trainings on women’s human rights commenced on Friday, 4 March 2016 under the cooperation of ILO and Altındağ Municipality

Job-seeking women participating to vocational training courses organized by Altındağ Municipality will be given training on women’s human rights to facilitate their employment under the project “More and Better Jobs for
Women: Women's Empowerment through Decent Work in Turkey,” implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) with the funds of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).


Trainings to be delivered by the “Women’s Human Rights-New Solutions Association” (WWHR) within the framework of ILO-Altındağ Municipality cooperation started on Friday, 4 March 2016. The objective of the training programme is to further equip unemployed women with information about their rights and facilitate the employment of these women who take part in vocational training courses organized by municipalities.


The project mentioned above is being carried out in Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa and Konya provinces of Turkey to support policies geared to providing decent work opportunities to women in Turkey and it is planned to reach 2,000 women through these trainings.

Trainings to be delivered in cooperation with local municipalities are organized as 10 weeks long group trainings where each group will receive training for half day (4 hours) a week. Training modules cover such topics as Women’s Human Rights, Constitutional Rights, Civil Rights, Gender Equality, Communication Skills, Violence against Women, Women and Health, and Economic Rights.
