  1. Symposium on Trade Unions in Times of COVID-19

    17 - 19 November 2021

    This international symposium aims to provide an opportunity for trade union leaders, experts, academics and ILO officials to exchange on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the world of work. Participants will discuss about strategies on how can trade unions shape the policy responses to the COVID-19 and contribute to the implementation of the ILO Global Call to Action for a human-centred recovery from the COVID-19 crisis that is inclusive, sustainable and resilient.

    The International Labour Organization convenes a two-day high-level event on Extending Social Protection Coverage in Africa from 17% to 40% by 2025. This online event will take place on 16 and 17 November 2021 and will feature a number of inspirational speeches and panel discussions. The speakers’ list includes, amongst the others: His Excellency Felix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ms Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary- General of the United Nations, Dr. Vera Songwe, Executive Secretary of United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and Mr Guy Ryder, Director-General of the International Labour Organization.

    The Zimbabwe UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF or just CF) -2021-2026 is the UN’s important instrument for planning and implementation of its development activities at country level, in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In Zimbabwe, the framework is supporting the national development priorities articulated under the 2021 National Development Strategy (NDS) I and efforts to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
