  3. International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2012

    Every 3rd of December, persons with disabilities across all nations gather to commemorate the International Day of the Disabled (IDPD). The event which is observed annually internationally goes way back to 1992 with different themes each year all addressing the various concerns of persons with disabilities with the aim of promoting awareness towards inclusiveness.

  4. African Judges trained on labour law

    The ILO helped 25 African judges from Botswana, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa and Zambia to fight sex discrimination in the courts but cultural challenges remain the biggest obstacle. The week-long course at the ILO’s training centre in Turin, Italy was organized by the ILO’s Bureau for Gender Equality.

  7. Desk review of research on HIV/AIDS in the world of work

    This desk review was conducted by ILO/AIDS as part of the Inter-Agency Task Team on HIV workplace policies/programmes and private sector engagement (IATT/WPPS). It is based primarily on the research documents shared by the IATT members, covering vulnerability studies, stigma and discrimination studies, impact and cost-benefit studies.

  8. ILO and IMF support discussion of a new strategy for employment, decent work and development in Zambia
