  7. National Action Plan for Combating the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Egypt (2018 – 2025)

    A ministerial decree No. 237 for the year 2014 was issued on the formation of a steering committee including representatives from all concerned ministries, social partners and stakeholders to participate in developing the plan for the elimination of child labour in Egypt. The committee has worked, with the technical assistance provided by ILO experts, on the preparation and development of this plan, which hopefully will achieve the desired outcomes for a better future for children in Egypt.

  8. Football match to eliminate the worst forms of child labour in Egypt

    The ILO Cairo Office celebrated the World Day Against Child Labour on 13 June 2018 with a musical entertainment performance for the children followed by a football match.

  9. What Works in Youth and Women’s Employment in MENA?

    On 7 & 8 May, the ILO will join partners to share the current status and progress on what works in youth and women’s employment in the MENA region while promoting multi-sectoral collaboration to define and address priorities for policy formulation. Key to this is the regional Community of Practice on Youth Employment, to facilitate knowledge sharing, partnership creation and up-scaling of successful youth employment interventions.

In a global context of wage growth stagnation, increasing income inequality and a growing number of people in non-standard employment, Egypt is turning to new green technologies that protect the environment while creating productive employment.
