Policy Brief on sexual harassment in the entertainment industry

The Violence and Harassment Recommendation, 2019 (No. 206) includes entertainment among sectors and occupations which may be particularly exposed to violence and harassment. Against this background, this brief analyses trends and patterns of sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, and it provides a picture of relevant laws and other means to protect workers in the industry.

Psychosocial risks, stress and violence in the world of work

The aims of this issue of the International Journal of Labour Research are to raise the questions surrounding work-related stress, violence and harassment in the world of work, in order to respond to the need to revitalize the exchange of information in the labour movement on these topics. This issue of the Journal comprises five articles covering prevention of psychosocial risks and work-related stress, trade union perspectives and actions on psychosocial risks and violence and harassment, digitalization of work and associated risks, trade union responses to the psychosocial impacts of technological change in contemporary workplaces, and vulnerability of certain groups of workers to violence.

Labour Education 2003/4 No. 133: Violence has always been part of working life. Millions of workers are scarred by it on all continents. In fact, the problem may be far worse than estimated as there is evidence that the incidence of workplace violence is still being under-reported. In most countries, however, violence is no longer considered to be acceptable.
