Jakarta, 5 January 2012 (ACTRAV INFO)-At the end of the 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) held in Kyoto from 4-7 December 2011, the General-Secretary of the Confederation of Indonesia Prosperity Trade Union (KSBSI), Ms Sulistri Afrileston hoped that the Conclusions adopted during the meeting would be implemented.

"We hope that all the participants will contribute to the implementation of these conclusions. Hopefully, the governments, and employers have a willingness to implement the conclusions," said Ms Afrileston.

“I think from the union’s side, we see that the Conclusions of the APRM are the consensus result. Because during the Workers’ group meetings, we always discuss and put attention especially on the issue of precarious employment, but we don’t see that in the Conclusions”, added Ms Afrileston.

Concerning the views of her own union, Ms Afrileston recalled some difficulties faced by the workers in terms of labour inspection, social dialogue, occupational safety and health etc. The union has solicited the assistance of the ILO to increase the capacity-building of workers."We need the ILO assistance to increase the capacity building of the constituents to facilitate the implementation of the ILO’s instruments," concluded Ms Afrileston.
