Regional Meeting in Lima on Strengthening Tripartism and Social Dialogue

Lima, 2 September 2011 (ACTRAV INFO)-The ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean has just held a meeting on strengthening tripartism and social dialogue in the Latin American and Caribbean Region. The meeting in Lima was attended by the Directors of the ILO Sub-Regional Offices in the Americas and the Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV), and the Bureau of Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP).

The main purpose of the meeting was to analyse the activities developed by the International Labour Office to promote social dialogue in the region.

The outcome documents of the meeting included an ACTRAV document on social dialogue in Latin America and the Caribbean and a document drawn up by ACTRAV and ACT/EMP on the commitment and role of their two offices within the ILO.
