CHISINAU, 8 JULY 2011 (ACTRAV INFO) - Under the Norwegian-funded ACTRAV project "Workers have strong independent and representative organizations", a seminar aimed at strengthening the trade union gender network, coordinated by the Pan-European Regional Council (PERC) was held in Chisinau, Moldova.
From 4th to 8th July, participants from across the region discussed various challenges to gender equality in the society in general, and in the trade union movement in particular, and a coordinated approach towards national level action was developed.
Implementation of the ILO participatory gender audit was among the concrete steps that the different unions will look into at national level.
In Chisinau, there was also discussion on how ACTRAV projects can support the Moldovan national trade union centre (CNSM) in line with their own priorities.
