The Special Advisor of the UN Secretary-General on Post-2015 Development Planning, Ms. Amina Mohammed, aims to involve unions in the planning and implementation of the Post-2015 Development Agenda objectives. In the villages of India, women are organizing against poverty. With the backing of a team from the ILO Bureau for Workers' Activities (ACTRAV)hundreds of "self-help groups" have been set up. These groups now ensure a trade union presence in some of the most remote areas of southern India.
