First phase of training for trade unions project implemented in Uzbekistan

The first seminar in a series of similar events provided for in the advanced training of trainers project for trade unions in Uzbekistan was successfully completed in the country on 24 – 30 November. This project is part of the Decent Work Agenda for the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2014 – 2016, agreed upon between the International Labour Organization and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

New ILO handbook on Education for the Unions

The Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ILO-ACTRAV) has just published a new handbook which addresses “Educating for Union Strength”. In this interview, the ACTRAV Senior Programme Officer for Asia and the Pacific, Ariel Castro explains the issues surrounding the topic of education in the world of work, for the trade union movement in particular.
