Events and meetings

One of ACTRAV’s main events is the bi-annual International Workers’ Symposium. This is a meeting gathering trade unionists and other specialists from all over the world to discuss a given topic.

In addition ACTRAV organizes other events, meetings and workshops, both at headquarters and in the field, focusing on the areas of activities of the bureau.

ACTRAV is at the service of workers representatives as they participate in different meetings at the ILO. Colleagues do also assist in preparing case files that will help worker representatives develop their positions and arguments for the Annual Conference of the ILO, the Governing Body, regional and sectoral conferences and in the Office's various activities.

  1. ACTRAV Symposium on Precarious Work (4-7 October, 2011)

Worldwide, millions of workers suffer from precarious working conditions. They work, but lack decent jobs, security, protection and rights. The universality and sheer numerical dimension of the problem call for regulation on the international level. Trade Unions are expecting the ILO to live up to the Organization’s responsibility to address more comprehensively the challenge of widespread precarious employment in the world of work.
