Events and meetings

One of ACTRAV’s main events is the bi-annual International Workers’ Symposium. This is a meeting gathering trade unionists and other specialists from all over the world to discuss a given topic.

In addition ACTRAV organizes other events, meetings and workshops, both at headquarters and in the field, focusing on the areas of activities of the bureau.

ACTRAV is at the service of workers representatives as they participate in different meetings at the ILO. Colleagues do also assist in preparing case files that will help worker representatives develop their positions and arguments for the Annual Conference of the ILO, the Governing Body, regional and sectoral conferences and in the Office's various activities.

August 2010

  1. Global Labour University Conference, 14-16 September 2010, Berlin, Germany

The two days Global Labour University Conference has been providing a space for generating progressive responses to this unprecedented global crisis and the challenges labour is facing. The Global Labour University invited trade unionists and academic scholars to explore ideas for a progressive alternative to the failed globalisation regime. Fundamental change is required to protect people and societies against the current economic disorder. Democratic decision making needs to be the master of the market and not vice versa. The leaflet below (pdf) describes the Conference in more detail and under Key Resources you will find additional documents from the Conference.
