Events and meetings
In addition ACTRAV organizes other events, meetings and workshops, both at headquarters and in the field, focusing on the areas of activities of the bureau.
ACTRAV is at the service of workers representatives as they participate in different meetings at the ILO. Colleagues do also assist in preparing case files that will help worker representatives develop their positions and arguments for the Annual Conference of the ILO, the Governing Body, regional and sectoral conferences and in the Office's various activities.

Asia and Pacific: Regional launch event of the International Journal of Labour Research
The ILO’s Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) organized a high-level regional launch of the International Journal of Labour Research on 16th July2021. “COVID-19 and Recovery: The Role of Trade Unions in Building Forward Better” is launched during a panel discussions which bring together authors, researchers , academics, ILO representatives and leaders from trade union in Asia and Pacific.

This webinar, part of the ACTRAV Webinar Series 2.0, will explore how to cushion the devastating consequences for the loss of income many workers face during lockdown as well as the policies in place such as wage subsidies, job retention schemes and other efforts in terms of short-term support and extension of social protection. Trade union strategies that can influence, shape and support these actions will also be discussed.

ILO Webinar on COVID-19: Stimulating the Economy and Employment in Asia and Pacific
The lockdown measures have sparked an unprecedented economic crisis in most countries around the world. “Jobs-led” and “human centred” economic policies have become increasingly important and necessary in the COVID-19 crisis and recovery response. The ILO Policy Framework on COVID-19 Crisis based on International Labour Standards identified out four (4) pillars to fight the crisis and one of which is the pillar on “Stimulating the Economy and Employment”. This webinar, part of the ACTRAV Webinar Series 2.0 will explore how economic and employment policies (in particular active labour market policies) can support workers and sectors in the Asia Pacific region to promote employment growth and more decent work on the road to recovery.

‘No one should work this way’ Preventing the abuse of domestic workers
Photos taken by the renowned photographer Steve McCurry of abused domestic workers will be exhibited at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Hong Kong SAR during the month of July. In addition, an opening event and presentation on the photo project will take place on Thursday 2nd July.

‘No one should work this way’ Preventing the abuse of domestic workers
Photos taken by the renowned photographer Steve McCurry of abused domestic workers will be exhibited at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, during the month of May. In addition, a presentation and discussion on the abuse of domestic workers and what can be done to end it will take place on Thursday 7th May. Both events are open to the public.

Asia and Pacific Seminar on Wages and Productivity: Union Strategies for Wage Rise and Improved Living Standards
The seminar, which was organised by the ILO’s Bureau for Worker Activities (ACTRAV) with the support of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), was held in Phnom Penh from 27 to 29 April 2015, with 40 participants from 15 countries in Asia and the Pacific. The participants were welcomed by Noriyuki Suzuki (General Secretary, ITUC-AP), Chuanhua Wu (Director of Africa and Western Asia Division, International Department, ACFTU) and Athit Kong (Representative of the Cambodian trade union movement), as well as Tun Sophorn (National Coordinator, ILO Phnom Penh) and Pong-Sul Ahn (Senior Specialist on Workers Activities, ILO DWT).
